The Truth About Biofuels in America

Posted in Diesel Oil on March 2nd, 2010 by diesel engine – 25 Comments

Google Tech Talks February, 12 2008 ABSTRACT Charles Anderson of Golden Fuel Systems will give a realistic behind the scenes analysis of many common alternative fuels and transportation options available in the United States such as: Ethanol, Biodiesel, SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil), Hydrogen Fuel Cells and Hybrid and Electric Vehicles. Charles will explain how an SVO conversion to a modern diesel engine works and compare the pros and cons of SVO and the other alternative fuels available. This presentation will be valuable for individuals who are trying to determine what alternative fuel choice is right for them. With his extensive work in the SVO industry, Charles has gained a unique perspective into many of the alternative fuels available in the United States. Speaker: Charles Anderson Charles Anderson is the founder of Golden Fuel Systems (formerly Greasel Conversions) which is one of the world leaders in manufacturing and installation of SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil) diesel conversion systems. For over 6 years, Golden Fuel Systems (GFS) has served the world-wide SVO community by offering affordable products, installations, unmatched customer service and knowledgeable technical support. With 6 installation locations around the globe, Golden Fuel Systems has helped thousands convert their diesel vehicles to run on SVO to avoid those costly fuel prices and lessen their environmental impact.

Purifying Waste Cooking Oil for Fuel (2/4)

Posted in Diesel Oil on March 1st, 2010 by diesel engine – 2 Comments

This is a short series showing you my VERY LOW COST, HIGHLY EFFECTIVE system for de-watering, settling and filtering waste oil for use as a diesel supplement/alternative (subject to suitability). Two Systems are shown; one for absolute filth contaminated with food/water/cigarette ends/fat, and the other for visibly clear oil only (simpler system). All components are selected for cheapness and availability. The final filtration is done through vacuum cleaner bags (Henry’s are good)….they can be burned for fuel when clogged with solid fats (see FATLOG series). Go ahead and emancipate yourself from fuel slavery. Other guidance (you must verify as current and valid) Currently in the UK you do not require a ‘Waste Carriers Licence’ if you are collecting for your own use; you can use 2500L/yr before registeing with HMCE to pay duty (about 30p/L), but you must keep a record of what you have used.

Bio Diesel Fuel : DigInfo

Posted in Diesel Oil on February 27th, 2010 by diesel engine – 2 Comments

diginfo - movie.diginfo.tv With global warming slowly becoming widespread, a special focus is placed on bio diesel fuel, oil made from plants such as sunflower, benas, palm oil, sugar canes, and waste oil. The carbon dioxide emitted from these bio diesel fuels are carbon neutrals which has the same quality as carbon dioxide emitted from plants during photosynthesis, and does not add up to the carbon dioxide in the air. The bio diesel fuel refining method was made even eco-friendlier by utilizing BIOMAX biomax, a catalyst used in refining bio diesel fuel process emits no waste water since it does’t use water and can reduce the processing time by half compared with conventional alkaline based catalyst, using potassium hydroxide. It is safe to use and less costly. Compared with potassium hydroxide, which took 85 yen to make one liter of oil, it only takes 50 yen and what’s more, the oil produced is of better and higher quality.

Gas storage, how to avoid shortages! Peak oil, fuel, crisis

Posted in Diesel Oil on February 25th, 2010 by diesel engine – 25 Comments

In this video we are going to look at how to store gasoline. This will help you to avoid shortages as some recently have experienced in the Southeast. In a true SHTF situation, you are going to need gasoline for many things including: vehicles (if still working), chainsaws, tillers, lawnmowers (yep your still going to have to mow every so often to keep down fire hazards and to cut down on possible concealed entry corridors), generators, water pumps, log splitters, etc. Left by itself, gasoline typically has problems in a fairly short period of time. It must be properly treated and put in good quality storage containers. Do NOT trust your gas to the cheapie red plastic cans from walmart. I personally would be leery of using any plastic containers to store gas LONG TERM, but that’s just me. Sit down and think about how much gas you use in a year around your homestead or survival retreat. Examples- 5 gallons for chainsaws and log splitter, 5 gallons for lawnmower, 5 gallons for garden tiller, 5 gallons for misc. hauling tasks around the homestead, etc. Treated fuel would be a good barter item also. tags- survivalist, survival, fuel shortage, storage, gas, diesel, homestead, peak oil, self reliance, preparedness, oil crisis, oil drum, fuel tank, gasoline, ethanol, bio fuel diesel, rationing, food storage, logistics, survival retreat, survival report, PRI fuel preservative, 911, Alex Jones, whatever else brings people in :)
